2011 was the 19th annual ladies charity day at Abridge Golf & Country Club. It was attended by veterans who have been many times before and for some this was their first time. Evey year the ladies section of the club nominates a different charity to support, there are many many worthwhile causes out there and we are very grateful that this year Drugsline was chosen. At the welcome speech Debrorah Jacobs explained why she supports Drugsline 'I feel myself to be a very privileged person. I have a loving husband two wonderful sons and two beautiful daughters in law. I have my health, my strength and my energy to follow any corse I choose.Others are not so lucky. Some of the most intelligent and inquisitive usually sensible people turn to drugs and do not know how to put their lives straight. There but for the grace of G-d go I. I am fortunate that I have never had to seek the advice ,guidance and support of Drugsline but feel their work is so important for those who need it. The charity is free to those who need it including family and friends of those who have drug or alchol problems' Our Executive Director, Rabbi Sufrin MBE was there to accept the cheque and thank all those that attended and supported Drugsline. |
