London, 22 May 2006 - Drugsline, the drugs and alcohol rehab charity based in north-east London, will be marking National Tackling Drugs Day on Tuesday 23 May by releasing a balloon for each caller to its helpline in the past six months. At 3pm tomorrow 500 balloons in the Drugsline colour of red will be released from a stall on Ilford High Street.

The stall will be manned by Drugsline volunteers who will be on hand to provide information about the services offered by the charity. The event will be attended by Councillor Alan Weinberg, Conservative member of Redbridge Council.

Drugsline Director, Rabbi Aryeh Sufrin said,

"At Drugsline we want to celebrate the number of people we have helped in the past six months, but more importantly, we want to reach out to others in the community who may need advice about drugs and alcohol use or support in facing addiction".

The Drugsline stall will be situated outside Harrison & Gibson on Ilford High Street tomorrow, Tuesday 23 May.

At 3pm 500 balloons will be released into the air, illustrating the number of calls made to the helpline in the past six months.
