Warning over 'bad heroin'

13th November 2006,

Drugsline have today joined the police in cautioning drug-users about a suspected batch of bad heroin after two men were found dead in Ilford.

Officers in Redbridge said the batch of narcotics was "particularly lethal" and police believe that both men may have purchased the drugs locally.

Det Insp Ronan McManus said: "The batch of heroin that seems to be in circulation at the moment appears to be particularly lethal and by putting out this warning we can help people make informed decisions.

"We also urge anyone who may get into difficulties and become ill through the use of drugs to seek medical help as soon as possible," he said.
