Rabbi Aryeh Sufrin, Executive Director of Drugsline, commented:
“We are thrilled to welcome Myleene and Graham on board and extremely excited to work with them both. Drugsline has made a tremendous impact throughout our 16 years and we have grown dramatically in the last 12 months. The appointment of our first patrons marks a milestone in our continued progress.”
Drawing on personal experience of the dangers and traumas of drug abuse, Graham feels very strongly about working with Drugsline to ensure young people are fully aware and informed about the reality of drug use and addiction. He commented:
“Like a lot of young people, I believed that occasional drug use would never be a problem; just a bit of fun with little danger of getting sucked in and becoming addicted. Now I appreciate that in reality, you don’t always have that kind of control. I want to support the Drugsline team and hope to get involved in their work within schools - giving young people the opportunity to adequately understand the facts about drug use and addiction by sharing personal stories in an open and honest way – showing that it is possible to be content and be respected without using drugs.”
Myleene Klass added:
“I am delighted to be able to support the hugely valuable work that Drugsline undertakes, particularly through its unique education programme. Graham and I both feel very strongly that it is essential young people are fully aware of the consequences of drug abuse and the ease in which it is possible to be trapped by the attraction of experimenting with drugs.”
