The Open Evening follows a busy week for the Gants Hills based charity, who only last week addressed Ministers, MPs and local councilors at the House of Commons, with the aim of encouraging better Government provisions for drugs education in schools. Drugsline provides a unique drugs education programme in schools across Redbridge and throughout London, and the Schools Team will be available on Thursday evening to explain why they believe preventative drugs education is so critical.
Guests and visitors will be able to speak to recovering addicts, including Schools Team Leader Darren Gold, who now visits thousands of pupils each month to openly discuss the dangers of addiction and the reality of drug use.
Volunteers from the innovative Joining the Loop interfaith Partnership will also be available to explain how the bi-lingual crisis line operates and the difficulties that ethnic minority members of the community have faced when looking for appropriate addiction support.
If you are interested in getting involved with Drugsline, please call 020 8554 3220.
