Drugsline is pleased to announce that our Executive Director, Rabbi Aryeh Sufrin was named in the 2009 Queen's Birthday Honours List to receive an MBE for "services to Jewish Community Relations, East London and Drugsline"
The Queen's Birthday Honours List recognises outstanding achievement and service across the whole of the UK. More than 70 per cent of awards have gone to ordinary people – local heroes from a range of fields – who have made a real difference to life in their communities.
Rabbi Sufrin was recognised for services to the Jewish community in North East London and for DRUGSLINE. Rabbi Sufrin received the award of MBE for people who have made a real impact in the community.
He said: "I feel honoured and humbled at the same time and very excited after so many years working in different facets of the community - both in the Jewish community and with Drugsline. "It come as a complete surprise to me but gives us more impetus to work even harder to build on this success and broaden the services that we provide."
The investiture at Buckingham Palace with the Queen took place on Thursday 15th November 2009.
