Outreach Education Programme

A major part of our work in the community is our Outreach Education Programme for schools, which is unique to Drugsline. The programme educates young people about addiction, the consequences of drug use and how easy it is to be trapped by the attraction of experimenting with drugs.

The students we speak to are often disturbed by what they hear and we urge them to share their experiences and support each other in facing challenges of the drugs culture. The benefits of these classroom sessions are unmistakable – students are given time to explore their feelings and emotions and learn how, if not controlled, these can cause them to slip into substance abuse.

  • 30,328 children reached since foundation of Drugsline
  • 1,200–1,500 children currently reached each month
  • 52 schools and youth facilities in Greater London and Essex attended by our drugs educators

I found your experiences both moving and inspiring
and I congratulate you for your courage both in fighting
your problem and in sharing your experiences with
an audience.
